Cheers!
After a few more coats of the texture/bedliner paint, the box is done and looking good. Installed the woofer and terminal cup and we're good to go.....now just need to schedule a time to finish the install (hopefully when it's nice outside so I don't have to use my heater again!
Cheers!

Got some time to sand and put a few coats of bedliner texture paint down.
Was going to do just to hard to reach areas with the spray on texture, but the coat layed down so well that I think I'll finish like this....such a good texture finish. Cheers Since the Roadster show is coming up, I thought it'd take care of some things on car so she's show ready.
My sub amp was fine, but didn't match my new 4 channel amp....so I get a new one and made a new amp rack cover....looking all better now! Cheers Worked on a friends Ranch truck.....Chevy Silverado.
New deck, speakers all around and a new....er amp to put the existing subwoofer. Sounded great and provided plenty of bump! Cheers Got to Project Liberty today.
2003 Jeep Liberty Pioneer Deck Install with Steering wheel controls retained and Bluetooth Arc Audio XXD 5 channel amplifier Infinity 6.5" Component Speakers up front Arc Audio 6.5" XXD Coaxial Speakers in the rear Arch Audio 10" XXD Subwoofer in a sealed carpeted box 4 gauge amp kit to make sure everything has enough power Jeep sounded good once everything was tuned and the customers left with a smile on their faces...so a success! Cheers! Had a Nissan Frontier in tonight...busted out a deck and sub/amp install. Whomever sold the customer the amp/sub combo sold them the wrong Sub/Amp combo, but still, with the sub only seeing 200 watts, it still pounded...customer was happy, so that's all the matter.
Yet another reason why Trax Customs is your place to go for all your vehicle needs.....we'll do it right the first time! Cheers! The Bypass of Video that took place on the Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD unit was for Chingy's Audi A4....got the unit in and he loves it....cruises through his iPod pretty good actually. Next for the Audi? Backup Camera, pre-wire for the amp and sub system we'll be doing, and auxilary input for other people that are against Apple like I am :)
Till then! So, instead of bypassing the Pioneer DVD players you most people do (by adding a switch on their dash somewhere) you can simple add a relay to it...and BAM...you're done!
So this way, the Pioneer will automagically bypass the stock DVD playback setting everytime instead of having to flick a swtich! Cheers Busted out a quick install last night for a client. Pretty cool, as this was probably the first 'Pawn Shop' install I've done where it wasn't JUNK product. Owner picked up an Alpine M5D M500 amp, had all digital controls with temperature, voltage and amperage displays....pretty neat.
Quick and dirty install, sounded pretty damn good, and customer was happy. Cheers Got a new overhead unit ordered (wrong color) and swapped them.
Also, snapped some pics, since I was busy the day the owner came and picked it up/I was done with it. Cheers!! Picked up Project Stang. It's sitting patiently, waiting for an LED overhaul.
Some gnarly bright LED fogs in the grill (stealth mounted) and some side emitting diodes in the grill. Also, interior LED additions to brighten things up a bit. Then planning on the audio overhaul. We're doing new speakers, possibly new deck, and an entire rear seat delete to make sure we have enough room for some thump!!! Cheers! Not doing the installing this time, but just helping out a fellow Solstice member.
He's putting in the Hybrid Audio Technologies Legatia Series 7" woofers, tweeters and their passive crossovers. These things are a very sexy looking....and that's just the pictures. Can't wait until he gets them installed. Cheers Previous Client called, was moving down to Arizona and needed some tunes in his van!
Deck install with new speakers...all used equipment but everything worked perfectly, sounded good and customer was more than happy. I forgot to snap pics of speakers installed, but I got a pic of the old equipment Cheers! Been busy the last couple of days. So busy in fact that I didn't get to take pictures of the Yukon's overhead video and detached DVD player. Everything went well, and the Bluetooth/DVD player tie in perfectly with the stock system!
This morning I knocked out an amp and sub install in a 85 VW Vanagon. This was a cool install. Ze Germans were at it again with this vehicle. They made a few little extra random storage cubbies, one of which worked perfectly for hiding the Jensen amp the owner had. Then we put the Old School Rockford Fosgate subwoofer behind the drivers seat. Sounds was much better than we he had before. Next we're planning on throwing some new speakers in the doors, and possibly rears as well. Should get this little guy sounding amazing in no time! Cheers!!! Didn't get much time on this one tonight, but I got started on the tear-down.
There is a lot more room in these bad-boys when you take out the center console! I'd put a sub in there if it was me (Bose actually does do a little rinky-dink woofer in there, just not this model). Putting in a 16" overhead video screen with a seperate detached DVD player in the center console, with wireless headphones, IR remote control, and the sound will play through the stock stereo through a hidden integration unit that will also allow the owners to use their Bluetooth's on their iPhones....just like they would be able to as if it were stock! It's also good to know that I can fit a full sized SUV and the beater into the shop! Cheers This just in from our Salmon Division of Trax Customs :)
Got a 98 Toyota Tacoma in today. We're doing a 3" Trailmaster Lift, 16" Ultra Motorsports Rims with 265 Toyos And threw some new door speakers in! Cheers!! Well, I'm a fabricator.....not a photographer...but I do my best.
So, here are a few photos of Evo X finished....well, for Trax Customs anyways. Now it's back to New York, where the turbo system will be installed! So till then! So, I've fabricated a trim ring to cover up the screws on the woofer. Yes, this was an after thought, but, it's something the owner suggested, which, after seeing it, is going to look good.
The red in the trunk is the only red THERE, but if you tilt your head over and compare the rims to the woofer....BAM...then you'll get it. Finished painting the ring so now I just have to wait till I can get the Evo again! Till then Got some free time to finish the door pods up. Owner has been rocking them for a few weeks, and I've been waiting on decals for the plexi. Just a few more days and this car will represent Trax Customs!
Took the door apart, trimmmed some plastic, wired up the LED strips and cleaned the glass. Also, has some neons laying around, so I rewired the trunk lights with them.....might switch those to LED strips as well....we'll see. Cheers Did a little 'crunch time' install for a client today, just in time for their family trip for Christmas.
After a few attempts and ordering correct products I was able to perform the install. Boss 10.4" Overhead Video Monitor with interchangable 'skins' to match interior and full 360 degree swivel, Boss detached DVD player with Aux input as well as USB and SD card inputs. Installed the DVD player into the stock lower pocket on the Suburban's center console, along with the FM Modulator's switch and IR Repeater.......turned out pretty trick. Cheers Cut the 1/4" and 3/4" plexi glass tonight....makes me want to have an Almond Joy
Also, got the front radar reciever and 2 front jammers installed and snaked back to the control module! Also, cut the arm rest divider out, so you can see the subwoofer magnet through the rear seats! Stayed up late finishing up the Radar installation. Got the front main radar mounted, as well as the two laser jammers, routed all wires carefully through engine bay and into the cabin.
Plugged the seat's airbag back in, turn it on and had a smile when everything worked right and responded correctly. That radar is sick. Also, cut out plexi windows for the subbox and door pods, as well as finished up the tweeter pods and final coat on the subwoofer box. That being said, it's INSTALL night tonight. Everything goes in and is fired up. Carpeting everything and going through last minute install stuff. Expect alot of pics tonight! Well, it was back to only 4 hours of work able to perform so here is what I got done:
Shaped the subbox, filled the pinholes on it and shot 3 coats of textured paint on it. One final coat of textured paint on the door pods, they are ready to be installed. Smoothed out the tweeter cups, filled the pinholes, now just need to sand them down and shoot them. Installed the Bluetooth mic, Radar Display, Radar LED, Radar Control Module and the USB update HUB. Ready for tomorrow Well.....got alot done today....now all that needs to be done is to wire up the 3 radar detector jammers and shifters, mount all the other components of the radar system, mount the doors, finish the subbox and finish the rear boot install...then cut plexi.....then wire everything up....ugh!!!
Here we go! Cheers! Today, for the first time, was my first actual full day I was out in the shop.....kind of crazy to think of it like that, but that's why it's been taking forever.....when you work a full 40 at the main gig, then come home and get motivated to go out in the shop...you only have 3-4 hours of actual work a night.....doesn't amount to much.
So anyways...here we go! Got the subbox in with the beautry panels, and they go in and out without a problem....so I'm not going to do an access panel for the windshield fluid or battery, since it will only take one screw and that will all come out. Also, put a layer of body filler on the subbox and will attack that tomorrow! Installed the backup camera today, as well as the rear raday jammer, so we're good back there. Got the backup camera's module all wired up and hidden away, made sure to leave the box somewhere you can get to, just in case. Also installed the antennas for the GPS on the Alpine DVD player as well as the Escort 9500ci radar detector. First photo shows you how I get motivated.....only 4 days left :S :S :S Cheers! |
